Mushi are basic and pure creatures with supernatural powers that are in
touch with the essence of life. Although Mushi are neither good nor bad creatures,
sometimes they can cause a lot of trouble to humans.
Ginko, the main character of the anime, is a Mushi-shi, a Mushi
specialist with the ability to see and interact with those creatures. He
travels from place to place to research and aid people suffering from problems
caused by Mushi.
Mushishi is like a series of short stories in which the only common
element is Ginko. Some of the 26 episodes are masterpieces. The characters are
well developed, the art is superb and the stories are memorable.
