Satou Tatsuhiro is a NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and a social recluse, also known as hikikomori, for almost four years. He believes that everything around him is one big conspiracy created by a secret organization called Nihon Hikikomori Kyoukai, or NHK.
Satou is increasingly becoming desperate until a innocent-looking girl by the name of Nakahara Misaki showed up in his life and claims to have a cure for his problems.
Welcome to the NHK is an anime that will make you laugh, think and maybe cry.

Anime Recommendation: メモリーズ (Memories)
Memories
consist of three stories: In "Magnetic Rose" two space travelers
follow a distress signal that come from a palatial ship of a former opera diva. In
"Stink Bomb," a young chemist accidentally transforms himself into an
unstoppable biological weapon set on a direct course for Tokyo. The last story,
"Cannon Fodder", depicts a day in the life of a militarized
civilization whose
entire purpose is the firing of cannons at an unknown enemy.

Recommended Movie: Battle Royale (バトル・ロワイアル)
In a
dystopian future, the authorities have devised an ingeniously brutal way of
keeping order and channeling the inherently violent impulses of the young.
Every year a group of teenagers is sent into a carefully observed wilderness to
hunt and kill one another, until only one survivor -the winner of the game- remains.

Recommended Drama: Kodoku no Gurume/The Solitary Gourmet (孤独のグルメ)
The
story follows a man named Inogashira Goro (Matsushige Yutaka ), who privately runs an imported dry
goods business. In his spare time between work, he visits various shops and
tastes their cuisine. The shops that appear in it are all real shops geared
towards a general public. Matsushige is not very expressive and his character
isn’t necessarily charismatic, but the real stars of the drama are the different
dishes shown in every episode. Kodoku no Gurume is currently in its third
season.
